Middleton is a perfect 10-0 against Skyview since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Vikings will host the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Middleton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Vallivue, who was ranked seventh at the time (Middleton was ranked fourth). The Vikings blew past the Falcons 13-2 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on four straight.

Averi Gustafson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Middleton got a massive performance out of Adelyn McPherson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. McPherson has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kenadi Whitlow, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Middleton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive contests.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Skyview and Nampa have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 15-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.
Makenna Shamy tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kenna Bettencourt, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Grace Chambers was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Middleton's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Skyview, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Middleton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .485. However, it's not like Skyview struggles in that department as they've averaged .476. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Middleton beat Skyview 8-3 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
