Andrew's batters probably weren't too happy with Lisabella Dimitrijevic, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Dimitrijevic has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mia Degliomini was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Kayla Doerre also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Franklin Central fell victim to New Palestine and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Dragons, falling 10-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Flashes were not able to get on the board.
Franklin Central also got a good showing from Olivia Starr, who tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.
At the plate, Franklin Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adelaide Hubbard, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Lincoln-Way Central's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.6 runs this season. As for Franklin Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lincoln-Way Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Franklin Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .352. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lincoln-Way Central might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Franklin Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
