Softball Recap: Culver Community Wins Going Away Against North White

Culver Community hadn't done well against North White recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cavaliers were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Vikings. Considering the Cavaliers have won seven matchups by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Aiden Molebash spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Culver Community let Abigayle Zehner and Hayden Lute run wild. Zehner went 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Lute fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI Zehner has posted over her last 12 games. Kalli England was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Culver Community kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Culver Community now has a winning record of 8-7. As for North White, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Culver Community will be playing at home against Oregon-Davis at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North White, they will head out on the road to square off against Attica at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
