St. Joseph is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Whitehorse. St. Joseph blew past Whitehorse, posting a 41-8 win on the road. The victory was some much needed relief for the Jayhawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Gunner Windsor was a one-man wrecking crew for St. Joseph as he rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes.
St. Joseph wouldn't let Whitehorse keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force four fumbles. Jordan Coley led the group effort, picking up two of those forced fumbles all by himself. Another thorn in Whitehorse's side was Jacob Scehnet, who picked up two sacks and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, St. Joseph was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 221 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
