It was a good run, but Macks Creek unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Marionville Comets by a score of 51-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pirates have suffered since January 25, 2024.

Macks Creek's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklyn Duggan, who went 5 of 11 en route to 15 points along with six assists and three steals. Duggan has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of India Willis, who went 6 for 14 on her way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Macks Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Macks Creek's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-2. As for Marionville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.

Macks Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-38 win against Ash Grove on the 26th. As for Marionville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 40-31 victory against Fordland on the 26th.
