The Big Pine Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Lone Pine 68-20. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Big Pine has scored all season.
Wil Mairs and Noah Ericson certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Mairs scored seven points, while Ericson scored five points.
Alfonso Castro continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lone Pine, scoring eight points along with eight assists and five steals. Castro is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Noah Quezada, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Big Pine's defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-6. As for Lone Pine, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Big Pine will be playing in front of their home fans against Baker at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lone Pine, they will head out on the road to take on Tonopah at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
