It was a good run, but Jasper unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Archie Whirlwinds by a score of 2-1. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Jasper saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Treyton Ritchhart, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Colt Clements also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Jasper's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Archie, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.

Coming up, Jasper will head out on the road to take on Sarcoxie at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Archie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sherwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Marksmen have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.83 runs per game on average), something the Whirlwinds will no doubt try to take advantage of.
