Knightstown had to endure a 15-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 69-61 win over the South Decatur Cougars on Friday. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Knightstown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brant Ellis led the charge by shooting 64% from the field en route to 21 points. The dominant performance gave Ellis a new career-high in field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Johnson, who posted 13 points.

Despite the loss, South Decatur still got an impressive performance from Karson Templeton, who earned 20 points and seven rebounds. Templeton is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 42% in the last three games he's played. Drake Scaggs was another key player, going 7-for-14 on his way to 15 points along with seven boards and five assists.

Knightstown's victory bumped their record up to 3-18. As for South Decatur, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Knightstown will face off against North Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Knightstown has given up an average of 60.8 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for South Decatur, they will square off against Morristown at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
