Trivium Prep had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it seven. They came up short against the Chandler Prep Titans, falling 21-9. If the Crimson Knights were looking for revenge after losing 29-4 to the Titans when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Hannah Campbell and Izzy Torres did some serious damage despite the final result: Campbell went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Torres got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and one RBI. Campbell also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Emma McElfresh was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Chandler Prep's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
On Chandler Prep's side, Lucy Garner and Elise Hirsch made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Garner struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Hirsch struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Garner has posted since back in March of 2025. At bat, Garner went 2-for-5 with five RBI and two runs, while Hirsch went 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Erin Hathaway was incredible, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Kalea Kao, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.
Trivium Prep didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-4 loss against Scottsdale Christian Academy on the 20th. As for Chandler Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-9 defeat against Wickenburg on the 20th.
