After flying high against the Temple Christian Crusaders last Friday, the Northmor Golden Knights came back down to earth. Northmor took a serious blow against Pleasant on Tuesday, falling 79-49. While losing is never fun, Northmor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while Pleasant is ranked 145th).
Defeat or not, Northmor got some senior leadership from Grant Bentley who scored 16 points and Drew Hammond who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Northmor were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Pleasant had a senior duo take command as Carson King scored 26 points and Trey Booker scored 16 points along with seven assists. The game was Booker's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Wiley Smith, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Northmor's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Pleasant, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northmor will be home for the holidays to greet Centerburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant will be home for the holidays to greet Clear Fork at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
