The Southeast Lancers will head out on the road to take on the Crest Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Southeast focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
Southeast meant business on Tuesday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Hornets squad that has allowed just 28.23 points per contest. Southeast blew past the Hornets 56-10 at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Southeast just coasted through the last quarter.
Kinzey Cassidy had an outrageously good game as she scored 16 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Teagan Warner was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
Even though Crest has not done well against the Wildcats recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Crest walked away with a 40-33 victory over the Wildcats. The victory was nothing new for Crest as they're now sitting on four straight.
Southeast pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Crest, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Southeast beat the Lancers 39-27 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southeast since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
