The Hackleburg Panthers had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They blew past Shoals Christian, posting a 46-7 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Hackleburg, who have now won three matches by 34 points or more so far this season.
Hackleburg can attribute much of their success to Davin Dulaney, who rushed for 133 yards on only 14 carries. Dulaney was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Hackleburg also got help from Cameron Ingram who showed off his sure hands for 84 receiving yards.
Hackleburg's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.8 points per game. As for Shoals Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hackleburg will take on Vina at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vina comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Shoals Christian, they will be playing at home against Waterloo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waterloo is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
