Basketball Recap: Woodruff Piles Up the Points Against Greer Middle College

Woodruff entered their tilt with Greer Middle College on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They really took it to the Greer Middle College Blazers for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-25 win. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Sadie Burnette was her usual excellent self, putting up 20 points in addition to five boards and four steals. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Jensyn Turner was another key player, earning 11 points and four steals.

Woodruff smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.

Woodruff's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Greer Middle College, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodruff will challenge Mountain View Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodruff is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season. As for Greer Middle College, they will welcome Broome at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Broome has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
