This week's postseason excitement didn't throw the rankings into complete disarray, but it did reorder the standings a decent amount. That and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
Johnstown-Monroe got a 35 - 7 win over Bellaire last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Caden Calhoun. Calhoun earned three touchdowns and 206 yards rushing the ball. That performance made Calhoun one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
It was another outing, another victory last week for the team with the longest stretch of success (nine consecutive games). Eastmoor Academy got a somewhat close 19 - 14 victory over Bishop Hartley. Hopefully the win is satisfying enough on its own since Eastmoor Academy actually slipped one place in the power rankings.
No Stoppin 'Em
92. That was the combined point total for Licking Valley and Indian Valley when they went head to head last week, and it set the benchmark for all power ranking teams. Licking Valley strolled past Indian Valley with points to spare, taking the game 56 - 36. Licking Valley saw its record improve to 9-3 and its power rank jump seven places as a result.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Hilliard Davidson (2nd in the power rankings) and Pickerington Central (1st). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Only one team will win this week, so we'll find out on Friday which team fails to repeat its success.
