The Evansville North Huskies will square off against the Evansville Harrison Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Evansville North has given up an average of 51.2 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
Last Friday, Evansville North came up short against Terre Haute North Vigo and fell 62-53. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Patriots are ranked 25th).

Despite the loss, Evansville North got top-tier performance from Bryson Chapman, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 29 points and eight rebounds. The match was Chapman's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. T.J. Michel also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
Meanwhile, Evansville Harrison had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took down the Thunderbirds 67-48.
Evansville North better keep an eye on Shane Sims. He was instrumental in Evansville Harrison's win, going 6-for-9 from beyond the arc en route to 34 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave Sims a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Brooks Thomas, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 14 boards.
Evansville Harrison's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. As for Evansville North, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-12.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Evansville North has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Evansville Harrison struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Evansville North came up short against Evansville Harrison in their previous matchup back in January, falling 70-61. Can Evansville North avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
