Basketball Recap: Garfield Community Learning Center Comes Up Short

If Garfield Community Learning Center was riding high fresh off their 74-42 takedown of South last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Garfield Community Learning Center Golden Rams fell 66-54 to the Louisville Leopards on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Rams of the 73-52 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Garfield Community Learning Center still got an impressive performance from Rayshawn Hamilton, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 18 points. The match was Hamilton's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Terion Chapman was another key player, putting up six points.

Garfield Community Learning Center's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Louisville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garfield Community Learning Center will host Buchtel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Buchtel knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Garfield Community Learning Center likes a good challenge. As for Louisville, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against West Branch at 7:00 p.m.
