Mason Campagna had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 240 yards and four TDs while completing 95% of his passes, and also rushing for 87 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. His passing game has become a key predictor of Claysburg-Kimmel's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was John Ritchey-Zerby, who rushed for 68 yards and one score on only five carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Claysburg-Kimmel was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 281 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.
Claysburg-Kimmel didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Campagna and Blake Kulick. Campagna has been hot recently, having also posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, Glendale's game on Friday was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 34-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mount Union. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost five in a row.
Claysburg-Kimmel will need to focus on slowing down Logan Skebeck, one of several Glendale players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 213 yards and a pair of TDs, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Tanner Ammerman was in the mix too, providing Glendale with two scores.
Claysburg-Kimmel's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Glendale, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Claysburg-Kimmel was able to grind out a solid win over Glendale in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, winning 32-22. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
