Softball Recap: Ragsdale Has No Trouble Against Thomasville

While Ragsdale put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Thomasville. The Ragsdale Tigers put the hurt on the Thomasville Bulldogs with a sharp 24-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Gracie Jet Cuthrell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Cuthrell was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Ragsdale got a massive performance out of Morgan Osborne, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Alexis Gray was another key player, scoring four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Ragsdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .750. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Ragsdale and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Thomasville, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Ragsdale will be playing at home against Grimsley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Thomasville, they are taking a road trip to square off against West Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
