 Newington let Rocky Hill stack five runs on them in the third inning  on Wednesday but luckily Newington prevailed anyway. The Nor'easters sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  an  8-7  win over the Terriers. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Nor'easters.
 Newington pushed their record up to 7-9 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.8 runs. As for Plainville, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 11-8.
 Everything went Plainville's way against Newington when the teams last played  back in April, as Plainville made off with  a  19-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
