Softball Recap: North Clay/Clay City Comes Up Short

North Clay/Clay City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Neoga Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Neoga this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 back in April.

North Clay/Clay City's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Neoga, they moved to 5-14 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Clay/Clay City will head out to challenge Lawrenceville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Neoga, they will venture away from home to take on Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
