The IMG Academy Navy Ascenders will be taking part in a tournament against the Treasure Coast Titans at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. IMG Academy Navy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
IMG Academy Navy is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since March 19, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Osceola, falling 8-2. The Ascenders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Xander Perrin was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits.

At the plate, Jeffrey Nepa was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Omari Swinton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Treasure Coast). They put the hurt on Lincoln Park Academy with a sharp 12-2 win on Friday. The Titans not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 19th.
Colin Jackson looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Treasure Coast: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 3-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Treasure Coast got a massive performance out of Jacob Sanchez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Treasure Coast is undefeated when Sanchez posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Charles Permann, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.
Treasure Coast always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The victory got Treasure Coast back to even at 6-6. As for IMG Academy Navy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
