American Christian School stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 84-35 victory over Kearny Christian Academy at home. While fans of American Christian School might be used to big wins, the 49-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
American Christian School had a senior duo take command as Caleb Ritchwood scored 21 points and Japhet Santiago scored 24 points. Ritchwood hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tim McDermott, who scored nine points.
Despite the defeat, Kearny Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Bryan Garcia scored 12 points.
American Christian School pushed their record up to 13-4 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.4 points per game. As for Kearny Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. American Christian School will challenge the Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kearny Christian Academy, they and the will face off at 4:30 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
