Central Kansas recap October 1, 2013
Hesston's Ryan Schadler rumbled for the longest rushing play in Central Kansas this season in his game against Hillsboro last week. Schadler scampered for 99 yards on the play and finished with 420 on the day as his team beat the Trojans.
Kingman was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. The Eagles beat Nickerson 37-6 earlier in the week.
Kingman's dynamic duo of Mitchell Packard and Cody New proved to be unstoppable against the Panthers, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Packard threw for 50 yards and New had 50 yards receiving.
Schadler provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Hesston topped Hillsboro. Schadler's key target this week was Justin Smith, who caught 2 passes for 33 yards.
Schadler was a force in the backfield as Clint Rider's team defeated Lance Sawyer's team.
Hesston's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Swathers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wyatt McKinney has thrown for 505 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while Grant Raleigh has 11 catches for 184 yards.
The Swathers' offense has racked up 193 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Curtis Albin's team has allowed only 33 on the year.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Hesston's Raleigh goes up against the Eagles' Parker Maloney.
Next week's game between the Swathers and Kingman will feature a good passing match up as McKinney will test his arm against Maloney's defensive ability.

Smoky Valley extended the longest winning streak in Central Kansas this week by beating Haven, 39-6. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Vikings.
