Lakeland had lost three straight at home, but  on Monday they dropped their record down to 6-11 to make it four. They came up short against  the Riverside Vikings, falling  13-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  8-7  back in April.
  Mick Eremo was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Olivia Cunningham, who  went 1-for-4 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
As for Riverside, their record is now 8-10. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six  runs or more this season.
On Riverside's side,  Addie Smith made a big impact no matter where she played. She  struck out eight batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and four unearned) runs off   five  hits. Smith was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with two  doubles. That's the most  doubles  she has posted since back in March.
 In other batting news,  Mikayla Smith was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and two  RBI. Those  two  doubles gave  her a new career-high.  Clara Sandly was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run.
