Herscher waltzed into their match on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They skirted past the Wilmington Wildcats 44-41. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Wilmington's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Melia Hincherick, who posted nine points and five rebounds. Taylor Stefancic was another key player, going 5 for 7 on her way to 11 points.

Herscher pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Wilmington, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 6-3.

Herscher will host Reed-Custer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wilmington, they will venture away from home to take on Coal City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
