It was a good run, but the Roosevelt Roughriders unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak dating back to last season on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 54-28 walloping at the hands of Hillsboro. Roosevelt lost against Hillsboro in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 47-17 score last time.
Roosevelt's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alana Munoz, who scored seven points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Munoz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alaya Heisler, who scored six points.
Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Hillsboro, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Roosevelt will face off against Gresham at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (Gresham is ranked 118th, while Roosevelt is ranked 100th). As for Hillsboro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Century at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Century focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday.
