Thunderbird is a perfect 4-0 against Dysart since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Titans will welcome the Demons at 4:00 p.m. Thunderbird is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.7 runs per game this season.
Thunderbird fell victim to Cactus Shadows and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 10-0. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Titans, who until this contest were averaging 3.83 runs allowed.
Meanwhile, while it was Dysart who put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, it was Glendale who put up more. The Demons fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 9-8. The Demons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jayden Livermore put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Livermore was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jamarian (JJ) Johnson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Aaron Olivas also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.
Dysart's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Thunderbird, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Thunderbird has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .540. However, it's not like Dysart struggles in that department as they've averaged .471. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Thunderbird got the 'W' in their previous matchup on Saturday against Dysart by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Demons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
