The Gibbon Buffaloes scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took down Giltner 43-28. The win was some much needed relief for Gibbon as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Gibbon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brooke Sell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kassandra Trevino, who scored 16 points along with five steals.
Kailyn Wilson and Avery Reeson certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Wilson scored five points along with ten rebounds, while Reeson scored eight points along with four steals.
Giltner struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Gibbon posted 14 assists.
Gibbon's win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Giltner, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gibbon will take on the Panthers at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fillmore Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Giltner, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m.
