Del Oro (Loomis, Calif.), it did manage to squeak out the 35-32 victory.
The Thundering Herd were up 28-17 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Tommy Arnold in the first quarter.
Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and the fourth quarter began with the margin still at 11.
Elk Grove was ahead by as much as 18 before the Golden Eagles pulled closer.
Brandon Monroe played well for Del Oro. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 23 touchdowns on the season.
EG's standout player in the win was
Robert Frazier. The senior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 24 touchdowns on the season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Del Oro, which notched a 21-10 victory over St. Mary's in its previous outing.
