Softball Recap: Cimarron Wins Going Away Against Hugoton

Cimarron won the last time they faced Hugoton and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bluejays blew past the Eagles 13-3. Considering the Bluejays have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Quinn Campbell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Cimarron got a massive performance out of Presley Glenn, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Kinlee Simon was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Cimarron always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hugoton only posted an OBP of .200.

Cimarron has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Hugoton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cimarron will square off against rival Goodland at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hugoton is set to take on their familiar foe Scott at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
