Cascade is 9-1 against Forrest since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Cascade Champions will head out on the road to challenge the Forrest Rockets at 7:30 p.m.
Cascade's 27-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. Their rough 71-48 defeat to Cannon County two weeks ago might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Cascade can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while Cannon County is ranked 127th).
Meanwhile, Forrest had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Community 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Forrest has posted yet this season.
Forrest relied on the efforts of Tristan Goad, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, and Ben Villazon, who scored 18 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Jimmy Bond, who scored six points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Cascade and nudges their season record down to 5-10. As for Forrest, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-14.
Cascade skirted past Forrest 39-36 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Does Cascade have another victory up their sleeve, or will Forrest turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
