Beloit is 2-8 against the Trojans since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Beloit Trojans will be playing at home against the Southeast of Saline Trojans at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Beloit's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
Last Friday, Beloit faced the Bearcats in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Beloit enjoyed a cozy 68-50 win over the Bearcats.
Bryce Beisner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eli Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Southeast of Saline didn't have too much trouble with the Fighting Irish at home on Friday as they won 59-44.
Southeast of Saline's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Bailey, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Kejr, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Beloit's victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Southeast of Saline, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7.
Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Beloit have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 48.1% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Southeast of Saline struggles in that department as they've made 39.9% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Beloit didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Trojans in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 44-40 victory. Will Beloit repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
