Mountain Brook has gone 9-1 against Homewood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mountain Brook Spartans will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Homewood Patriots at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mountain Brook is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Vestavia Hills. Mountain Brook came out on top in a nail-biter against Vestavia Hills on Thursday, sneaking past 6-5.

The team relied heavily on Reagan Rape, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Minich, who went a perfect2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Homewood hadn't done well against Leeds recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Homewood put the hurt on Leeds with a sharp 14-4 victory.

Mia Gonzalez was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Gonzalez was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Homewood got a massive performance out of Allie Stuman, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Peighton Letson, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Homewood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leeds only posted an OBP of .364.

Mountain Brook beat Homewood 9-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Does Mountain Brook have another victory up their sleeve, or will Homewood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
