Lutheran-Northeast is 3-0 against Hartington-Newcastle since December of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lutheran-Northeast Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lutheran-Northeast is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Plainview just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 60-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Gavin Feddern, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Colston Kapels, who went 6 for 12 en route to 17 points.

Meanwhile, Hartington-Newcastle suffered their biggest defeat since January 4th on Tuesday. They came up short against Elkhorn Valley, falling 63-41.

Lutheran-Northeast will have to contain Mason Krause as he made an impact in Hartington-Newcastle's last game. He went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points. The dominant performance also gave Krause a new career-high in steals (two). Austin Sudbeck was another key player, putting up ten points.

Even though they lost, Hartington-Newcastle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

Hartington-Newcastle's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Lutheran-Northeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.
