Central extended the longest winning streak in Sangamon Valley this week by beating Momence, 21-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
St. Joseph-Ogden took down Paxton-Buckley-Loda 47-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
J.R. Caspary threw for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns. He went 17-28 with 2 interceptions.
Zach Hamman was the best wideout in the league this week as the Redskins lost to Central. Hamman racked up 4 receptions for 50 yards. Gino Wendes helped Momence's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 12 yards.
Momence's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Redskins feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Aaron Cantwell has thrown for 1,891 yards and 23 touchdowns this season, while Hamman has 40 catches for 602 yards.
Momence's Cantwell is within 109 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Brian Spooner's team.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Matt Fox's team takes on the Comets. The Redskins are currently in fourth, while Central is in first.
The league will see a high scoring game when Momence and the Comets face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Redskins comes in having scored 256 this season, while Central has scored 355. Momence scored 0 points last week as it lost to the Comets.
The Spartans led Sangamon Valley in scoring this week by notching 47 points on the Panthers.
