Basketball Recap: Argonaut Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Argonaut won the last time they faced Liberty Ranch, and Mitchell Mcmahan did his part to make sure it happened again. The Argonaut Mustangs secured an 86-80 W over the Liberty Ranch Hawks on Friday thanks in part to Mcmahan, who dropped a double-double on 39 points and ten rebounds. Argonaut is 18-3 when Mcmahan posts 30 or more points, but 1-2 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Caspary, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 22 points and seven assists. Those 22 points gave him a new career-high.

Liberty Ranch lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Wyatt Blevins, who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine boards. Blevins is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Elliott Hawker was another key player, going 7 for 17 en route to 22 points and seven rebounds.

Argonaut is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. As for Liberty Ranch, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Argonaut will square off against Bradshaw Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Argonaut's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Bradshaw Christian has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road. As for Liberty Ranch, they will take on El Dorado at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Liberty Ranch is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.
