The Beecher Buccaneers will head out on the road to face off against the Atherton Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Beecher took a serious blow against Genesee Christian, falling 49-15.
Meanwhile, Atherton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 55-13 loss at the hands of Genesee. Atherton was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-7.
Beecher's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.3 points per game. As for Atherton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
Beecher took their victory against Atherton when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 45-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for Beecher since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
