Football Recap: Land O' Lakes Piles Up the Points Against Cypress Creek

Land O' Lakes got themselves on the board against Cypress Creek on Tuesday, but Cypress Creek never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 45-0 win over the Coyotes. Considering the Gators have won nine matches by more than 19 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Leading Land O' Lakes to victory were Sophia Spiegel and Eve Douglas. Spiegel threw for 88 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of her passes, while Douglas picked up 36 receiving yards and one TD. What's more, Spiegel racked up 139.3 passer rating, the most she's had since back in February.

Land O' Lakes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Maxdyn Luedy, Anna Quatrino, Ariel Millard, and Kaylynne Mace picked up one apiece. Luedy got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory made it two in a row for Land O' Lakes and bumps their season record up to 11-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 points in those games. As for Cypress Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Land O' Lakes will venture away from home to face off against Robinson at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cypress Creek, they will welcome Sunlake at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
