AA Region III recap November 19, 2013
Fairfield Central extended the longest winning streak in AA Region III this week by beating Keenan, 26-0. The victory was the 11th in a row for the team.
Pelion and Crescent played the most contested game in the league this week, with Pelion eventually emerging with a 20-14 victory.
Fairfield Central's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. DeAndre Belton threw for 62 and 1 touchdown and Compton Walker had 30 yards receiving. On the ground Belton chipped in 78 yards. Tavares Cook helped Fairfield Central's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 14 yards.
Belton was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 9 carries, he ran for 78 yards as Demetrius Davis' team bested the Raiders. Teammate Larry G. Bell added to the ground attack by rushing for 78 yards.
Fairfield Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Griffins feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Belton has thrown for 1,416 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Kewaun Squirewell has 23 catches for 407 yards.
Keenan lost to the Griffins 26-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
