Churchill has gone 10-0 against LEE recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Churchill Chargers will be playing at home against the LEE Volunteers at 7:30 p.m. Churchill will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Churchill will head into Wednesday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 27) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Johnson 49-47. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Jaguars are ranked 102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Churchill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alina Hernandez, who posted 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That's the most steals Hernandez has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Daphne Zuniga, who earned 11 points and four steals.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for LEE, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Madison 64-28. The Volunteers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.
LEE's win came from a few key players Churchill will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Rosanelly Pastrano, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten steals. The contest was her 23rd in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilah Yanover, who went 8 for 13 en route to 18 points and six boards.
LEE was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison only posted six assists.
Churchill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. As for LEE, their victory bumped their record up to 19-9.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Churchill hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 66.6 points per game. However, it's not like LEE struggles in that department as they've been averaging 59.2 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Churchill strolled past LEE in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 69-51. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Pastrano, who posted 29 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Churchill still be able to contain Pastrano? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
