Salina Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 60-53 win over the Goddard Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 63-51 back in December of 2025.

Despite the loss, Goddard still got an impressive performance from Presley Schmidt, who posted 20 points and seven boards. The game was Schmidt's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jill Eck, who put up eight points.

Salina Central's victory bumped their record up to 11-9-1. As for Goddard, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Salina Central has already played their next contest (against Newton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Goddard, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Andover at 6:00 p.m. The Lions' defense better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 65.8 points per game this season.
