The Christian Learning Center Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against Chanute Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Christian Learning Center comes in on 18 and Chanute Christian on seven.
Christian Learning Center stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Center Place at home to the tune of 49-16. Given Christian Learning Center's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 62nd in Kansas, while Center Place is ranked 358th in Missouri), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Christian Learning Center got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rylie Allen out in front who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Callie Trezona, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Chanute Christian stacked a fourth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard last Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 58-30 win over Lighthouse Christian Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Chanute Christian has posted yet this season.
Christian Learning Center pushed their record up to 11-0 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Chanute Christian, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Christian Learning Center took their victory against Chanute Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a conclusive 59-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Christian Learning Center since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
