The New Milford Knights's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against Hasbrouck Heights by a score of 59-50. For New Milford, this counts as revenge for the 61-38 loss Hasbrouck Heights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Luis Placido was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jake Johnson, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.
New Milford's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Hasbrouck Heights, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
New Milford will take on Cresskill at TBD on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Jersey (New Milford is ranked 204th, while Cresskill is ranked 229th). Hasbrouck Heights' road trip will continue as they head out to face Garfield on February 6th. Garfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
