Westfall is 9-1 against Zane Trace since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Pioneers at 5:15 p.m. Westfall will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Westfall had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Southeastern on Thursday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Panthers. The game marked the Mustangs' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Adrina Hicks made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anna Snyder, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Logan McNeal was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.
Westfall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Lynchburg-Clay hit Zane Trace with a four-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pioneers lost 7-1 to the Mustangs. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Westfall has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. Zane Trace's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Westfall hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322.
