The Mater Dei Knights won the last time they faced the Taylorville Tornadoes, and things went their way  on Tuesday too. Mater Dei came out on top against Taylorville by a score of  55-42. That's two games straight that Mater Dei has won by exactly 13  points.
 Mater Dei found their leader in underclassman  Amelia Beer, who  scored 23 points along with six  rebounds and three  steals. That's the first time this season that  Beer  scored 15 or more  points.  Alyssa Koerkenmeier was another key contributor,  dropping  a double-double on ten points and 13  rebounds.
 Mater Dei has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 12 of their last 13 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Taylorville, their loss dropped their record down to 17-4.
 Mater Dei will be staying on the road  on Thursday to face off against Breese Central at 8:00  p.m.  on January 18th. Breese Central will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Taylorville, they will be playing at home against Charleston at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday. Charleston will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 467th, while Taylorville is ranked 38th).
