The Jackson Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Pinckney Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Jackson is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pinckney in Michigan (Jackson is ranked 101st, while Pinckney is ranked 576th).
Jackson has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 69-68 to Norrix. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Koronnis Davis put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Tristen Cawthon, who scored 11 points.
Pinckney can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They took down Whitmore Lake 52-35. That 17 points margin sets a new team best for Pinckney this season.
Jackson's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-3. As for Pinckney, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.
Jackson took their victory against Pinckney in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 64-44. Does Jackson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pinckney turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
