Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Orem couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Brighton Bengals by a score of 55-53 on Tuesday. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Orem's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Simeon Sugutaraga, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 15 points and eight boards, and Chamberlain Burgess, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Burgess a new career-high in steals (four). Jax Allen was another key player, putting up ten points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brighton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josh Mawhinney, who posted 15 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bradley Easton, who had 15 points.

Orem's defeat dropped their record down to 21-4. As for Brighton, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-10.

Orem does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brighton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-46 loss against Highland on the 26th.
