The Collins Tigers pushed their score all the way to 71 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Richton 76-71. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Collins of the 62-45 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture last Tuesday.
Despite the loss, Collins still got an impressive performance from Jaylen Willingham, who scored 33 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Willingham has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Latreyveon Lowe, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Collins were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Richton only posted nine assists.
Leading Richton to victory were Daylin Carter and Dakota Amos. Carter scored 22 points along with seven rebounds, while Amos dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Amos is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Taylor, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Collins' loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6. As for Richton, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-7.
Collins does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Richton also has no future games currently scheduled.
