The Berrien Rebels will head out on the road to square off against the Crisp County Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Berrien will be strutting in after a victory while Crisp County will be coming in after a loss.
After failing to score in their last contest, Berrien made sure to put some goals up on the board against Lanier County on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 10-0 shutout. With that victory, Berrien brought their scoring average up to 5.5 goals per game.
They hit Lanier County with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Omar Garcia (4),
Osiel Rodriguez (2),
Jesus Palma (2), and
Greysen Strickland (2).
Meanwhile, Crisp County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They fell just short of Fitzgerald by a score of 3-2.
The win got Berrien back to even at 1-1. As for Crisp County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Berrien took their victory against Crisp County in their previous matchup back in April of 2017 by a conclusive 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Berrien since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
