Softball Recap: Farmington's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rio Rancho, Farmington was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cleveland Storm an 11-0 shutout. Considering the Scorpions have won eight contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Alba Allen made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Allen was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Aaliyah Archuleta was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Farmington moved to 12-10-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Cleveland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Farmington is set to challenge their familiar foe Volcano Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cleveland will face off against rival Piedra Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
